Garden Chair Buyers Guide
Hayes Garden World stocks one of the largest ranges of garden chairs in the UK. All our outdoor garden furniture is sourced by Keith Laird and Ian Hodgett who have over 60 years experience between them in seeking out the best quality products at competitive prices, often travelling far afield to Asia and Europe. Our respected suppliers include Alexander Rose, Norfolk Leisure and Barlow Tyrie and as one of the UK’s largest retailers we are able to negotiate deals to ensure you pay the best possible price for your garden furniture.
We stock garden chairs made from almost every good quality material available; timber, metal, resin weave and combinations. There is a chair for every occasion; lounging in the sunshine, enjoying your morning coffee, dining with family and friends or just sitting in a corner of the garden and appreciating your hard work. Some of our chairs, such as the single cocoon are also great for a child’s bedroom. We also recommend the rattan weave furniture for conservatories; as these spaces are often unheated in winter the resin weave is excellent for coping with extremes of temperature being resistant to mould and warping.
Always pay as much as you can afford for your garden chair as when it comes to buying garden furniture you get what you pay for. All the furniture from Hayes is sourced from the most respected suppliers and constructed to the highest possible standards. Our chairs start at £62 for a single wooden folding chair, always handy to bring out at Christmas, to £2,400 for a super comfy chaise.
Buying a single garden chair gives you the versatility of extending your seating when having a family party or having somewhere to sit if you only have a tiny balcony and every situation inbetween. If you only have a tiny balcony we have folding chairs which can be hung on the wall when not in use. Extra seating for a family celebration need not be a problem with our lightweight metal stacking chairs which can be stowed in the garage or garden shed when not in use. Our single cocoon chairs have rocketed in popularity recently as they are so versatile, from popping in a corner where you can escape with a drink and a good book to a comfy addition to a child’s bedroom.
The materials used in the construction of our chairs varies from sustainably sourced teak, rust free aluminium and powder coated tubular steel to resin weave used in our rattan garden furniture. Whatever the material, you can be assured that it is the very best quality and constructed to the highest standards.
The amount of maintenance depends upon the type of chair chosen. The timber garden chairs need as much or as little maintenance as you want to give them. Give them an annual treatment of a teak preservative and they will retain their lovely deep amber colour or left alone they will eventually weather down to a silvery grey. The metal garden chairs need no maintenance apart from a wash down with a mild, warm soapy solution in spring to remove any accumulated dirt and grit. If they do get chipped just touch up with a little car paint or a dab of nail varnish. Cushions on chairs need no maintenance just stow them somewhere dry over the winter either in a cushion bag or box.
All our garden chairs are constructed to the very highest standards using the finest quality materials and should last at least 15 years, under normal conditions. If your garden furniture is not secured in winter and during high winds there is a great chance that it will become damaged and will not be covered under our normal warranty. Garden furniture not secured also poses a significant danger to people and property.
