Garden egg chairs buyers guide

Egg chairs come in a range of sizes, so no matter what you want to use it for, you’ll find one that’s right for you. Individual egg chairs are perfect for one person to curl up inside and enjoy some peace and quiet, while double or triple style cocoon chairs are the ideal spot for the family to spend some time together. They can even be used in children’s bedrooms to create a cosy nest they can enjoy. Our range of egg chairs come in several neutral colours to ensure they blend in beautifully with any garden. White eggs chairs are a luxurious and sleek feature for a modern garden while grey egg chairs can work in traditional spaces or on contemporary patios or decking. Decorate with outdoor cushions to enhance your egg chair and add your own style. Most egg chairs will be made from a rattan weave. Rattan is extremely durable and can be left outside all year round. The frames are constructed using powder coated aluminium which is rust proof and, again, can withstand many weather conditions. We would always recommend buying a furniture cover, but the great news with egg chairs is that if you do forget to put the cover on occasionally, it won’t rot or ruin your hanging chair. We only sell the best quality egg chairs from top suppliers, and all of our chairs come with a guarantee. An egg chair is a true investment and a timeless piece of garden furniture that offers real value. Add to small urban gardens for a high end seating option or place in a grassy corner where you can while away several hours with a good book.

FAQ

Keith Laird. Keith has worked at Hayes for most of his working life so is perfectly suited to knowing exactly what garden furniture our customers find
most appealing. As a member of a buying group he can negotiate prices with our suppliers to ensure our customers get the best possible deal. He sources the garden furniture from only the very best manufacturers so you can be sure your garden furniture will endure.

Can an egg chair stay outside?

One of the biggest benefits of egg chairs is that they are safe to stay outside all year round. Hard wearing rattan and rust proof aluminium mean that your chair will be fine come rain or shine. Cushions, however, will need to be kept indoors to stop damp or mould. You won’t need to pre-treat it either so it is a low maintenance piece of garden furniture with a high impact.

Are egg chairs safe?

Egg chairs are completely safe. They have been specially designed to hold human weight and so there’s no need to worry about climbing in an egg chair. They are also extremely comfortable, acting like a cocoon that feels warm and cosy. Hanging chairs, with their gentle rocking motion, are both safe and very soothing.

How do you secure an egg chair?

Egg chairs are made to be stable with their base designed to take the weight of the chair and the person sitting in it. There is little reason to secure your chair and in fact, one of the great things about egg chairs is that you can easily move them from place to place either to follow the sun, the shade or to bring into an indoor room. In high winds, you may want to add some extra weight to the bottom of the chair, such as sandbags, for some extra security.

Where can I put an egg chair?

You can put an egg chair anywhere. They look just as good in a patio area as they do on elevated decking or on the lawn. They can also go inside if you have a small nook you can keep it in. As our rattan egg chairs are UV stable, they won’t fade in the sun so you can choose to put them in the sunniest spot in your garden or keep cool by positioning them in a shaded area.

What is the best egg chair?
Most egg chairs are made from rattan. A few may have canvas covers but generally speaking rattan is better because it can be left outside. Single egg chairs have a smaller footprint and so work well in many sized gardens and can easily be brought indoors. If you have a large family or enjoy having guests over, a double egg chair or even a triple egg chair might be better for you if you have the space.
