Covering them over the winter ensures they remain in an ‘as new’ condition as long as possible. All the maintenance you have to do in spring is brush the furniture down with a soft brush to remove any grit particles embedded in the weave and maybe give it a wipe down with a soft cloth and warm water. The first consideration is to make sure you know the size of the rattan garden furniture as many of the covers are specific to particular styles of garden furniture. The fabric is also more likely to be UV resistant, making it resistant to fading.
