Buyers guide to the artificial Christmas tree sale
All our artificial Christmas trees are sourced from the very best suppliers by our experienced Christmas buyers, Caroline Young and Clara Penhallurick who have had over 30 years’ service at Hayes so are aware of the standards our customers expect. The sale trees are just end of lines that we are not running with the following year or designs that we have over-ordered. The vast majority of our artificial trees carry the Hayes Lifetime Warranty, which is an expected 15 years, this warranty also applies to the reduced trees. These trees also feature the long-life LED lights which have replaceable bulbs, these lights should last around 50,000 hours, however should one go out or break we will supply replacements for the life of the tree (15 years) free of charge. The advantage of buying a pre-lit artificial tree is the time you save on putting your own lights on the tree then carefully taking them off again after Christmas. If you take them off as fast as possible and just stuff them into a bag then they are going to take an age to untangle and put back on the following year. Why not save this time and spend it with your feet up in front of the fire or with family and friends? LED lights cost very little to run so you won’t be getting any nasty shocks when you receive your bill after the holiday. They are all cold to the touch so absolutely essential if you have small children in the house. The Feel-Real branches on the top-quality trees are made from polyethylene (PE) which has the same waxy feel of real conifer needles and are moulded on real fir trees. The sale trees are not only available in plain green; frosted and snowy artificial Christmas trees have become extremely popular over the last couple of years. They are easy to decorate as the frost and snow do a lot of the work for you so all you need is a minimalist palette of a couple of toning colours and baubles of different sizes; ideal if you don’t have the confidence to put together a complicated colour scheme. Natural colours work really well; caramel, cream and brown as do the Arctic blues, white and crystal. Natural decorations in wood and fur with cones sprayed in antique gold or bronze complement the Arctic and natural palettes. If you want a tree decorated on a budget go foraging in the garden and the countryside for sculptural flower and seed heads then spray them in the antique gold or bronze spray; hydrangea, teasels and twisted hazel all work really well. Click here to read the blog giving you some ideas on what to grow in your own garden that can be used as Christmas decorations. Salt dough decorations are a great project for keeping the kids occupied for a few hours and can be painted in acrylics to match your foraged items; click here to read how to make these decorations. Many of us now live in a modern apartment or bedsit and just don’t have the space for a full-size Christmas tree; don’t worry you can still create a stunning tree with a slim or pencil tree. If you don’t even have the floor space to fit in one of these space saving trees then consider decorating an artificial wreath or garland instead and placing it along a sideboard or on a windowsill. As all our trees are the very best quality you can be assured that your sale tree is exactly the same as a full-price tree so this is the opportunity to purchase a top-quality tree that might otherwise be beyond your budget.
