How can I keep my rattan garden furniture looking as new for as long as possible?

Although all the rattan garden furniture sold by Hayes is fully weatherproof and can be kept outdoors all year round, if you want to keep it looking as new it does need to be kept covered in winter and in adverse weather conditions. 

Is the weave garden furniture fully weatherproof?

Yes, all our garden furniture can be left outside all year round. If you wish to keep your furniture in pristine condition for longer there are covers available for the majority of our sets.

What does the Hayes warranty cover?

Our warranty covers any defects in the construction process or faults in the material. It does not cover any damage  incurred as a result of the set not being secured during adverse weather conditions.

Can rattan furniture be left outside all year round?

Rattan furniture is one of the best types of garden furniture if you plan to leave it outside in all weather conditions. A good quality rattan will be UV stable so will not fade in sunlight and the aluminium frame will not rust in the rain. Too much rain can weaken the rattan over time so it is always advisable to cover the furniture when not in use and put any cushion away in a storage box.

What is rattan furniture made of?
Rattan garden furniture is made with a resin weave that is produced using polyethylene fibres. This synthetic material is why rattan is more durable than natural products like wood. High quality rattan furniture will be hand woven so the resin strands do not unravel or break. Rattan furniture frames are usually made from aluminium for its anti-rust properties and because it is lightweight.
