Why buy a set of garden furniture?
Buying your garden furniture as a complete set ensures that everything matches. If you buy separate chairs and table there is a chance that the colour will differ slightly and you may not be able to buy matching chairs to go with that bargain table. When buying a set make sure you buy one big enough to accommodate any future gatherings as it may not be possible to obtain spare chairs at a later date; some manufacturers only sell their garden furniture as a complete set.
How much do I need to pay for my garden set?
If you are just looking for a simple 2-seater bistro set to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine you can spend as little as £180 for a good quality stylish set which will last for many years with very little maintenance. A contemporary dining set to seat 12 can cost as much as £10,000 but it will enhance your outdoor space and give you many years of use. We stock over 100 garden furniture sets at a range of prices so there will definitely be one to suit your budget.
What style is best for my space?
If you have a contemporary minimalist urban outdoor space there are ranges from Alexander Rose, Barlow Tyrie and 4Seasons which would be ideal as they are styled on clean lines from powder coated aluminium or stainless steel mixed with timber and composites. LIFE Outdoor Living sets are constructed from aluminium with weatherproof cushions to give you a really comfortable chic lounge set.
Which materials should I go for?
The powder coated aluminium sets are virtually maintenance free and quite light so easy to move around the garden. They are the best choice for a contemporary outdoor living space as quite often they are simply styled. The cast aluminium sets from Hartman are a more ornate traditional style so would suit the quintessential English country garden and are still light enough to move around the garden. The wooden sets also look in keeping with a cottage garden whereas the resin weave furniture can cross the boundaries and look equally at home in a contemporary or traditional setting. The weave has the added advantage in that it is maintenance free, just needing a light wash down with soap and warm water in spring. Timber sets can be as maintenance free as you wish, leave them and they will weather down or treat them every couple of years to keep them looking as new.
