Traeger Timberline

Traeger Timberline

The NEW wifi Traeger Timberline is the ultimate in wood-fired grilling

Timberline 850 (pictured above)

The new Timberline wood-fired pellet grills from Traeger are a world away from their old models. There are subtle details, such as the coloured trim on the wheels and the new computerised display panel, which give them a more modern contemporary look. The older models have that traditional ‘half an oil drum’ look which does appeal to a certain sector, but these new Timberlines will appeal to a younger trendier audience who will appreciate all the hi-tech gadgetry.

Your Timberline will arrive boxed with everything you need to assemble all the parts, except the friend needed to help you lift the assembled grill! First of all read the assembly instructions thoroughly and make sure you understand them, if you are in any doubt please ring The Barbecue Shop here at Hayes Garden World and they will be able to resolve any issues for you. Incorrect assembly could result in the grill malfunctioning, which at best it won’t perform to its full potential and at worst could be dangerous. Also make sure you familiarise yourself with the owner’s manual to ensure that the grill is properly maintained and situated to allow all the toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide, to escape from the unit and dissipate into the atmosphere.

The new Timberlines retain all the features of the earlier models but they can now be controlled by wifi through an App on your phone. The app is available for both iOS and Android and allows you to monitor and control the temperature of the grill, ensuring you don’t ever over-cook anything again. It will also remotely start the grill and links you to the Traeger grilling community where you can not only interact with other users but also download recipes to your grill.

The new Timberline is better insulated than previous models with a double wall to ensure that more heat is retained therefore using less fuel, which in turn saves you money. The fuel used is the same as previous models, the Traeger 100% wood pellets. These pellets are sourced from forests sustainably managed by Traeger and are pure wood pellets, containing no additives or binder, they are compressed under extreme high pressure allowing the natural glutens in the timber to act as the glue. They are available in flavours such as; apple, cherry, pecan and maple, to name just a few, which will add an extra layer of flavour to your cooking.

There are 3 grill racks in the chamber allowing you to cook even more food, the 850 model has 850sq in (5484sq cm) of cooking space and the 1300 has 1,300sq in (8387sq cm), compared to 300  – 884sq in (1935 – 5703sq cm) of the previous models. The two integral probes allow you to cook larger cuts of meat to perfection. As the heat is circulated evenly via the fan your food will cook evenly throughout the chamber. The larger hopper capacity, 24lb (11kg), compared to the 10lb (4.5kg) and 18lb (8.2kg) of earlier models, enables you to cook for longer without the need to re-fuel.

If you come into the shop at the weekend we may even have one fired up so you will be able to see exactly how well they cook, and taste the results.
