How To Cook King Prawns With Chilli, Lime And Garlic Marinade In A Vegetable Basket On The Weber Master Touch Charcoal BBQ.

Tasty, fast, delicious king prawn starter from the charcoal BBQ

This must be one of the easiest and quickest seafood dishes ever. Top BBQ chef Richard Holden and Ian Hodgett from the Hayes Garden World Barbecue Shop demonstrate on the Weber MasterTouch charcoal BBQ. Make sure the king prawns are the freshest. Combine the juice from 1 lime with a couple of grated garlic cloves and a finely chopped medium strength chilli. Place it into a freezer bag, add a kilo of prawns and massage the prawns until they are all evenly covered with the marinade. The marinade can be made in advance, stored in the bag, then just tip in the prawns half an hour before you are cooking them.

Heat the BBQ to a medium/high heat with the large Weber vegetable basket over the direct heat. Once it has reached temperature tip the prawns into the basket and turning constantly cook until they have turned pink. They only take between 1 and 2 minutes each side.

Serve with a bowl of good quality mayonnaise. This makes an excellent little dish for your guests to pick at while they are waiting for the main event.
