Kestrel Second Early Seed Potatoes

Kestrel is a fairly recent introduction which is fast becoming a household favourite due to its flavour. A second early which has smooth skin with blue eyes and is ideal for baking, chipping and boiling. It is a high yielding variety and has good resistance to blackleg, as well as potato virus, slugs, eelworm and bruising.

Care & Maintenance

Plant second early potatoes from March to late May, and small, new potatoes will be ready to harvest in around 13 weeks. Chit before planting, and grow in the ground or in potato bags. If you're eager to plant earlier, first early potatoes start best in February.
