The range of MEATER Thermometers is a creation of Apption Labs, a UK-based company with offices in the USA and Taiwan. MEATER have created the first truly wireless smart meat thermometer with an easy-to-use mobile app to monitor your food, allowing you to enjoy perfectly cooked meat and fish every time. Not only that, the mobile app also estimates how long it takes to cook the rest of the food accompanying your chosen meat, helping you to plan your meals effectively and manage your time in the kitchen. MEATER thermometers take the guess work out of achieving perfectly cooked meat – their state of the art technology is accurately calibrated within +/- 0.5°C in the internal sensor. With over 24 hours of battery time with each full charge, you will always have the perfect cooking companion that makes overcooked meat a thing of the past. Choose to use for your Kitchen in the oven, pan or range for baking, roasting and slow cooks or cast iron skillets. Alternatively, MEATER thermometers can also be used for your BBQ in the smoker, grill or Kamado Joe as the battery lasts for overnight smokes and the wireless design is perfect for the rotisserie.

FAQ

Ian Hodgett

Why do I need a MEATER thermometer?

So that you can cook your food to the exact temperature when it is done, no more overdone steaks, dry and stringy or raw chicken. By learning the temperatures at which your food is cooked you can get your chicken to be juicy and tender and your meat will be just the exact stage of doneness you require.

I never dare cook chicken on the BBQ in case I give everyone salmonella, will The MEATER enable me to do it?

Yes, chicken is cooked safely at 75C, so once it reaches this temperature take it off and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before serving. Always ensure you take the temperature at the thickest part of the bird.

Where can I get more information on using the MEATER?

Pop into store here at Ambleside and talk to the team in The Barbecue Shop and they will be able to give you lots of tips and advice.

I'm just a BBQ beginner, is there anywhere I can learn more?

Yes, we hold BBQ courses here in the store which are designed to suit anyone of any ability. They are led by 2 of the industries top BBQ chefs. You will learn how to regulate the temperature of your grill, what to cook on the different heat zones and how to cook some delicious food and of course eat it. Keep an eye on our Events page for upcoming courses. We recommend booking early as they are very popular and spaces are limited.
