How To Cook American-Style Pancakes On A Weber BBQ
Easily cook this classic breakfast with the griddle BBQ accessory
Enjoy breakfast in the garden in the summer sunshine and treat yourself to American-style pancakes, bacon and maple syrup This video featuring Ian and Ed, two members of the Hayes Garden World staff from The Barbecue Shop, shows you how easy it is to cook that classic American breakfast on the BBQ. The BBQ we are using is the Weber Q3200 with one of the cooking grates removed and replaced with a griddle. Pre-heat the BBQ for 10 – 15 minutes on a medium heat before cooking.
Place the streaky bacon on the griddle first, streaky is much more successful for crisping than back bacon. Place a small ladle full of pancake batter on a buttered griddle. Close the lid and check them after about a minute; if the bottom has gone a nice golden brown then they are ready to flip over. Turn the bacon over at the same time. Put the lid down and cook for a further minute. Arrange on a plate with the bacon then drizzle a little maple syrup over the bacon and the pancakes and there you have an American-style breakfast in no time at all.
An add-on griddle is available for most makes of charcoal and gas barbecues. It can really easily help you expand your range of barbecue recipes. Try baked eggs in a spicy tomato sauce; ideal for breakfast, brunch or a light supper. And there is always the classic English breakfast.
