How To Cook French Toasted Bagels With Summer Fruits On A Weber BBQ

Cook a delicious dessert on your barbecue griddle accessory

Everyone loves an indulgent dessert and this is not for dieters! It mitigation it does contain fruit! This video, featuring Ian and Ed from our Barbecue Shop, here in store at Hayes Garden World, show you how to make a truly delicious, easy dessert. Raisin and cinnamon French-toasted bagels with summer fruits cooked on the griddle. Griddles are available for most gas and charcoal barbecues.

The BBQ we are using is the Weber Q3200 with one half of the cooking grate taken out and replaced with the griddle. Pre-heat the griddle for 10 – 15 minutes to a medium heat. Make up a mix of milk and beaten egg, cut the bagels in half lengthways and soak for about 5 minutes in the mixture until they have soaked up some of the mix. Butter the griddle and place on the bagels cut side down, close the lid and leave for about 30 seconds. Check that they have browned then turn over and toast the second side for another 30 seconds. Take off the griddle and toss in a mixture of caster sugar and cinnamon. Brush off any excess sugar and serve with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and we have also added a scoop of English Lakes Double Jersey ice-cream.
