Buyers guide to fire pits
Our outdoor space is now being used as an extra room where we can chill out and entertain family and friends; it is no longer the sole province of plants and a lawn. The modern garden has comfy garden furniture, a patio in the sunniest corner, a barbecue and fire pit allowing you to still enjoy the outdoors when the temperature drops. We have a large selection of fire pits from the simple bowl to the gas fired European styled fire pits from Happy Cocooning. Our outdoor leisure buyers Keith Laird and Ian Hodgett have sourced the very best from manufacturers such as Cool King, La Hacienda and Kadai. Keith and Ian have over 60 years experience between them so have a great understanding of our customer’s likes and dislikes. Whether you crave the quintessential English garden or a chic minimalist urban outdoor room we have the perfect fire pit to suit.
Prices of fire pits vary considerably from £34 to £800 so anyone can afford to be warm in the evening. At the bottom end of the budget is the simple fire basket suitable for throwing on large logs, whereas the top end of the budget is the stylish gas powered fire place. Your choice purely comes down to how much you are going to use your outdoor room, what is the style of your garden and how much do you want to pay.
The majority of fire pits burn logs and charcoal but if you don’t like the mess then the gas powered models from Happy Cocooning are the ones for you.
All the fire pits are suitable for toasting marshmallows but the Kadai fire bowls have grills and cooking plates allowing you to grill a limited amount of barbecue fare. A bowl is also available to hang from the tripod of the Kadai fire bowls ideal for cooking warming stews. All our fire pits and bowls come with 12 months guarantee against any defect in the construction or materials as a result of normal use.
