Jewels & Desires - Handmade Gemstone Jewellery from the Lake District

Jewels & Desires have been designing & making gemstone jewellery since 2008 with the aim of providing stunning, unique & affordable jewellery designs. Designer & jewellery maker Julie Parker says "It is often difficult to find a piece that makes the statement you desire to give your outfit that final classy touch & Jewels & Desires is all about that!". Based near Kendal, 'The Gateway to the Lakes', there is plenty of inspiration for Julie's designs which include gemstones, pearls & crystals. The handmade Gemstone Jewellery range is inspired by the semiprecious gemstones themselves. Each one is unique in its own right as the shapes, colours and markings vary from stone to stone - and when combined with pearls or crystals the outcome is stunning! The gemstones are sourced from around the world and include stones like Turquoise, Jasper, Amethyst & Tigers Eye.

Over the years the gemstones have been linked with individual properties, qualities & meanings, they have been linked to Birthdays (Birthstones) and signs of the Zodiac. With a little research, all these associations make it possible to make your gift to someone special a bit more personal.

Lustrous pearls & shell are also used to create designs from simple & elegant necklaces to using them to enhance stunning focal pendants. The most spectacular shell is the Abalone or Paua shell whose rich shades of greens and blues make an eye-catching focal point to any piece. You will also be amazed at the fantastic variety of shapes, sizes and colours of cultured pearls that are available & they add lustre to the designs.
