How To Repair Scratches On Synthetic Rattan Garden Furniture

Scratches on synthetic rattan garden furniture can be buffed out

Synthetic rattan garden furniture can so easily become scratched especially if there are children in the family, but it's not the end of the world as it is easily remedied and you won't be able to tell.

If good quality synthetic rattan furniture becomes scratched it won’t be very noticeable as the dye runs all the way through the polyethylene weave material. However if cheaper quality furniture becomes scratched then it will be more noticeable as the dye is usually just applied to the outside of the weave. The scratch will go through to the lighter coloured material.

Scratches can be repaired by applying gentle heat from a hair dryer until the weave becomes soft then buffing vigorously with a soft cloth. You then won’t be able to see the scratch on a good quality set however you will be left with a lighter coloured patch if the furniture is a poorer quality set.
