Blue Danube is an early main crop potato which is truly beautiful to grow in the garden. It has medium foliage-blight resistance and good tuber-blight resistance. It also has good resistance to a number of viruses. Growers experimenting with this variety always want more - it is developing cult-status. In the kitchen it offers what some have said is the best roast potato ever.
Grow main crop potatoes in the ground for best results, as they'll have more space. Main crop varieties tend to produce larger spuds for baking and roasting. Chit the tubers and plant up from March to mid-May for a harvest in approximately 20 weeks.
