Our Four Seasons Terrace Café is located on the upper level, but this can be accessed using the lift. Tables and chairs are not permanently fixed and we offer table service, as well as ordering in app for your convenience!

Our Famous Scones
Most of the cakes on sale in our restaurant are made by our bakers on site using only the finest ingredients. Our famous scones are made fresh every day; along side the usual fruit, plain and cheese we have a scone of the month, which can vary from chocolate to cherry and almond. We also have gluten free bakes so everyone can enjoy a well earned coffee and cake after all that shopping!

Dogs That Dine 🐕
Pooches are welcome to roam the Garden Centre & Nursery, but we've got to keep the café pup-free. Fear not! Dine with your furry friend on our outside terrace, accessible from the nursery. We've also got refreshing drinking water for them and a few treats tailored just for their taste buds!

Farrer's Tea & Coffee ☕
We serve a huge range of hot and cold drinks, wines, locally brewed beers and speciality teas and coffees from Farrer’s of Kendal. For nearly two centuries, Farrer's has been delighting with drinks sourced only from farms committed to sustainable practices that also prioritise staff welfare. They even roast in small batches so that the coffee we serve you is fresh and full flavoured, making it a favourite of Hayes customers for many years now! All of our staff undertake the Farrer's training courses to ensure that you receive the best drink possible, every time.

What's the parking like?
We have a large car park that's free for all of our customers to use! We kindly ask that if you decide to venture to another part of Ambleside after your shopping, please park your car elsewhere so we can make room for more visitors.
What times are you open (shop and café)?
Our shop is open 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday, and 10am - 4:30pm on Sundays. Please note that the café closes one hour before the Garden Centre does.
Can I book a table in the café/restaurant?
No, seating is first come first serve I'm afraid. We do offer online ordering though - meaning you can download our app to order at your table. If that's not your thing, one of our lovely colleagues will happily take your order.
Do you allow dogs?
Yes! We love dogs of all shapes and sizes. Dogs are allowed in all areas except for our Four Season Terrace Café. To enjoy a treat with your pup, please use the outside entrance to the café and opt to dine alfresco!
