FAQ

Is it essential to use a dedicated fertiliser or will general purpose be just as good?

General purpose fertiliser is better than nothing but a dedicated fertiliser has been tested over several years and is proven to give you the very best results from your plants.

Will any fertiliser work on my plants?

No, you really need to buy the appropriate feed for your plants. For example, it's no good feeding tomato plants which have started fruiting a high nitrogen fertiliser as this would just promote lots of leafy growth and at the fruiting stage you need to encourage the plant to produce more tomatoes so a dedicated tomato feed is essential.

How do I store my garden chemicals?

First of all is to store them on a high shelf well out of the reach of children and not near anything else which could be mistaken for the chemicals. They also need to be kept dry and frost free. Keeping them out of direct sunlight will also stop the packaging from fading.

Does it really matter to mix the fertiliser at the correct ratio of feed to water?

Yes, this is crucial. If the feed to water ratio is too strong the feed will burn the plants roots which means it won't be able to take up water and will inevitably die.
