Bulb Gift Packs

There are bulbs for every season in every colour and height from the stunning tree lilies reaching 8ft to the dainty tiny blue stars of Anemone blanda reaching only 6ins. Who can fail to be uplifted by the sight of snowdrops peeping through the snow in late winter giving a hint of spring just around the corner. A group of gladioli planted in an herbaceous border can add height and structure or a stunning Glory Lily will love growing against a warm south facing wall or be equally at home in a pot in the conservatory. Plant bulbs in old pots and either place inside a decorative container or just sink in the herbaceous border when gaps appear. Bulbs love well drained soil so if you have heavy clay just add some home-made compost, horticultural grit or spent compost out of your old containers and hanging baskets. If you love flowers in the house you can't do better than dahlias, available in every size and colour from the huge cactus types to the single dainty species. They will flower from late summer through autumn, just keep picking them and feeding with tomato food once they have made their first buds. You don't even need a garden, they can be grown indoors, just imagine the heady scent of hyacinth in the home at Christmas.
