Buyers guide to OutdoorChef barbecues
OutdoorChef barbecues are some of the most innovative on the market and represent excellent value for money. All our barbecues and accessories are sourced by The Barbecue Shop manager Ian Hodgett who has spent his entire career at Hayes Garden World in the barbecue and garden furniture departments so is well aware of the standards our customers’ demand. This Swiss company prides itself on producing a great quality grill which will last for years. They produce gas, charcoal and electric barbecues so whatever your preference they have it covered. Charcoal for the purists who allege that it is the only way to get that authentic smoky barbecue flavour. Gas grills are much cleaner than the charcoal and quicker to come to temperature, they also feature the GSS (Gas Safety System) which OutdoorChef have developed to make the grills safer. If the gas goes out it automatically re-ignites enabling you to grill in a wind. It cooks to a large range of temperatures enabling you to cook anything you would normally cook in the kitchen and not just bangers and burgers. Their electric grills are ideal for an apartment balcony where you are not allowed a live fire barbecue. Although purists dismiss the electric barbecues, they do have their place in the grill range. Although we haven’t made any videos with the OutdoorChef grills we do have a video where we compare burgers cooked over gas, charcoal and electric; click here to view the results where you can see that there is not a huge difference in taste. The grills compare favourably with the smaller Weber barbecues, without the Weber price tag, and can cater easily for the average family however if you regularly host larger parties then maybe consider one of the larger grills from Weber or the Traeger wood pellet grills which can hold a surprising amount of food; click here to watch the video where we demonstrate how much food fits onto the Traeger grill. Click here to view the great many BBQ videos showing recipes, product info and the tech stuff on our Youtube channel; the majority of these videos feature The Barbecue Shop manager Ian and top BBQ chef Richard Holden. If you are stuck for BBQ recipe ideas and don’t just want the standard barbecue fare, click here to view all the recipes we have cooked on a range of grills. The Barbecue Shop located in the store is open all year round so if you're stuck for a present for the budding chef then we have everything they could possibly need from top of the range grills to a humble tub of seasoning; click here to view the range of Angus & Oink sauces and rubs available online.
