Tree Stands and Accessories
Although an artificial Christmas tree is much more cost effective than a real tree you just can’t beat that fresh tree aroma but quite often they start to drop before the big day so we feature several stands which hold a reservoir of water. Click here to read the blog outlining the best features of various species of fresh Christmas trees. If you do want that fresh pine tree smell without having to vacuum up needles for the next 6 months try the Christmas tree scents which hang in your artificial tree and will easily last over the festive period. Not all trees will go back into the box so investing in a dedicated bag will keep your artificial tree, garlands and wreaths clean and safe. If you want to be in vogue with your Christmas tree, then we recommend the snowy and frosted trees, they are a Hayes customer favourite. Opt for a pre-lit tree artificial tree if you are short of time, but if you do want to light your own tree we recommend 100 lights per foot. Click here to watch the video showing you how to put the lights on the tree for a stunning effect, and here to view our light selection. Our pre-lit artificial trees are available to view in store or online, read the blog giving you some tips on buying your artificial tree; at the end of the blog there is a list of trees which can be viewed in store.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answered by our expert 'Keith Laird'Standing your fresh Christmas tree in a dedicated stand means it is less likely to fall over and choosing one which holds water makes it less likely that it will lose it's needles over the festive period. Keeping the tree hydrated is important so, saw off an inch from the bottom before placing into the stand and remember to keep the water in the reservoir topped up over the festive period. If you don't want to go to the trouble of having a real tree check out or selection of unlit and pre-lit artificial Christmas trees. Fresh trees are usually available in our Outdoor Plant department from the middle of November.
