7ft - 7.5ft Christmas Trees

If you’re looking for the ‘wow’ factor, it’s got to be a 7ft tree artificial Christmas tree. Designed as the perfect height to fit in homes with standard ceilings, a 7ft artificial tree will fill a room beautifully and create a picture-perfect Christmas scene. Most of us dream of a full width artificial Christmas tree but the reality is many of us can't accommodate a large tree and this is where the slim and pencil trees come into their own. You still get the 'wow' factor just not taking up a lot of floor space. If you still can't accommodate a tree consider a wreath or garland along the dining table, across the mantlepiece on a sideboard or winding up the bannister. Frosty and snowy trees are a gorgeous alternative to the plain green and can look absolutely stunning, providing the perfect backdrop to a Scandi palette. Our pre-lit artificial Christmas trees feature low voltage LED lights which cost only pence to run over the whole festive period. Hayes will supply spare bulbs free of charge over the lifetime of the tree, approximately 15 years. If you still prefer to light the tree yourself click here to watch a video showing how to put the lights on your tree without getting into a mess.

Clara Penhallurick
Christmas and Gifts Buyer
Clara has worked at Hayes Garden World for about 20 years and has risen to head Gift and Christmas buyer. Having worked in the Christmas department since joining Hayes she has an in depth knowledge of the requirements and likes of our customers. She has a particular love for Christmas spending many hours designing our spectacular displays. She keeps up to date with all the latest technology and current fashions. Our major suppliers all subscribe to the European design organisations who decide the colours for that season. Many of our customers like keeping to trending styles with various themed Christmas trees in all rooms of the house. Colours which would not sell a couple of years previously are now suddenly best sellers. The way to prevent you completely changing all your decorations every year, and saving a fortune, is to buy the majority of decorations in one colour and just change a few accent colours. Co-ordinating colours are Clara’s strength as you can tell from the beautifully harmonious displays in the Gift department.

When buying an artificial Christmas tree always check the number of tips, this is the indicator of how thick and bushy the tree is. Other indicators are whether the tree has a proportion of PE (polyethylene) branches and whether the retailer offers a guarantee. We offer a 5 year guarantee on defects in the construction and materials so you can be confident that you are buying a tree that we feel confident will meet your needs. The PE component makes the tree look exactly like a real forest tree as these branches are modelled on real branches and feature a material which feels exactly like real waxy conifer needles. The PE trees usually have the traditional PVC in the centre of the tree where, once decorated it won't be seen. This is to keep the cost to a realistic level.
We think it is as it saves you so much time and stress putting on and taking off multiple strings of lights. At the end of Christmas most of us just want rid of the trappings of Christmas that we tend to just stuff the lights into a bag and leave them until the following year. Then what you're faced with is a rat's nest tangle of lights which take an age to sort out and more often than not results in broken bulbs. Our artificial Christmas trees have about 100 bulbs per foot of tree and look spectacular. To achieve this stunning look at home it would be necessary to put on several strings of lights, even more stress, so why not let us do the hard work for you.
The vast majority of our artificial Christmas trees have low voltage LED lights which cost only a few pounds to run over the whole of the festive season. The lights are cool to touch so an absolute no-brainer if you have small children in the house. They are estimated to last about 10,000 hours which is well over 1,000 days, easily lasting the life of the tree.

7ft Christmas Trees Buyer’s Guide

Buying an artificial Christmas tree is an investment for many years to come. As most houses have ceiling heights of 9ft, you can make the most of your space every christmas with a 7ft tall christmas tree. Our premium range of 7ft trees are incredibly real looking and have been designed on different tree styles including classic firs and stunning spruces.

Although 7ft trees do offer the grandeur of a tall tree, you can also purchase slim or pencil tree styles for when floor space is tight. The cone-like shape makes for a beautiful focal point and you can choose frosted or heavy snow varieties for a really decadent look. Our 7ft pre-lit artificial Christmas trees are particularly popular as not only are there no pine needles to pick up, but they also come with lights already attached.

With a 7ft christmas tree, you can really enjoy decorating it and lighting it up. We recommend around 100 bulbs per foot of christmas tree and up to 200 individual decorations to really make your tree stand out. You should also allow around 6” for your tree topper so that it doesn’t touch the ceiling. For more help and advice read our guide to Lighting your Christmas tree

All of the artificial Christmas trees at Hayes have been designed to look as realistic as possible, with modern materials and coatings helping to create a feel-real effect. You can choose to decorate your tree however you wish, whether that's with warm LED lights and traditional reds and golds, or with a more Alpine or Boho style to match today’s trends. 7ft trees are the perfect size for most homes and will help bring Christmas to life this December.

Lighting your 7ft Christmas Tree

Although it may sound like a lot of lights to make a 7ft Christmas tree glow, the overall cost is actually quite minimal. Each of our pre-lit trees has a transformer that starts at 8W, with the most powerful being 32W. An 8W transformer, when run for 12 hours a day over 4 weeks, would cost just £1.75. The most powerful transformer, 32W, would cost £6.75 for the same time period. Buying a pre-lit tree with low voltage bulbs can be an energy saving way to light up your home this Christmas.
