Schools Sunflower Competition – Update

The Summer Schools Sunflower Competition has turned into a GREAT competition

It’s all systems go with the Sunflower Competition; we’re busy stuffing envelopes – the franking machine has gone into meltdown and the staff are on the brink of taking to drink! We originally had 20,000 entry forms printed but are now waiting for the printers to send the next 20,000, as we have surpassed the first batch by 3,222. It’s our most successful Summer Competition by far, so thank you to all the primary schools who have registered. If you are waiting for your entry forms we should have the next print run by Friday 5th June so they will be posted on Monday.

If any primary school hasn’t yet entered there is still plenty of time and I’m sure you have lots of talented pupils who could design a seed packet for sunflowers; unfortunately it is only for pupils age 11 and under. Registration is quick and easy, to enter you just need to scan the pictures and email them to us, where they will be displayed in store for our customers to choose the three winners. Don’t forget £1,000 can go a long way towards a class day out, starting a gardening club, buying gym equipment or some benches for the school grounds. It also fulfils some of the national curriculum criteria so is a great learning resource.

If the school doesn't want to enter individual children can upload a form and the prize money will go to their school.
