Good quality synthetic rattan garden furniture is resistant to moulds

Moulds and mildew thrive in warm, damp, still air so the growth of these organisms can be alleviated by not letting the furniture get wet and maintaining good air-flow.
Cheap synthetic furniture however is not made to the same high specifications and can become infected with micro-organisms. One way to get rid of the organisms is to wipe down with a weak bleach solution; however as cheap synthetic furniture is not dyed all the way through the polyethylene this will leave a light coloured mark. One way to avoid this would be to spray off the moulds with a pressure washer. Unfortunately due to the nature of the material this is going to be an on-going problem.
