How To Choose The Correct Parasol Base For Your Garden Parasol

Avoid accidents by choosing the correct base for your garden parasol

How to choose the correct parasol base is one of the most frequently asked questions of our sales staff here at Hayes Garden World, and a topic which causes most confusion. There are lots of different sizes and shapes of parasols to match any set of garden furniture, and hopefully this short video will help de-mystify the whole process.

The correct weight of base is essential to keep the parasol stable, especially when you have one of the large cantilevered type parasols.  Smaller parasols with a pole of less than 42mm and which will be going through the centre of the table can take the smaller 15kg base which should keep the parasol stable. For a parasol which stands behind your garden furniture and has a diameter of more than 42mm you need a base of at least 25kg.
Always remember to tighten the screw at the base of the parasol to ensure that the parasol remains stable if there is a sudden gust of wind; if the wind picks up it is safer to take down the parasol altogether.
