How To Assemble And Dress Out A Smokey Mountain Artificial Christmas Tree

Latest technology Christmas trees are indistinguishable from the real thing

The Smokey Mountain premium Christmas tree is one of our Gold standard range of trees which have a 5 year Guarantee. It features the latest technology 'Memory Shape Wire' branches and 'Feel Real' needles. The tree in the video demonstrations is the pre-lit 7' Smokey Mountain.

It is a mixture of PVC, in the centre of the tree, and amazingly life-like ‘Feel Real’ PE at the tips.

First take the stand and screws out of the box; pull the stand out so that the screw holes are lined up. Lightly twist the screws into the outer piece of metal; if you put the screws too far through the stand you won’t be able to insert the base layer.

Find the base layer of the tree; this will be the largest and heaviest piece. Place the tapered end of the stem into the base and tighten the screws. Plug in and switch on the lighting system. Normally we wouldn’t advise assembling lights with them switched on but as these are low-voltage LED’s. As you are building the tree locate the small jacks and connect before moving onto the next section, if you assemble the whole tree then try and find the connections it will be almost impossible to find them.

Place your foot on the stand and pull off the sleeve and let the branches fall, as this is a ‘Memory Shape Wire’ tree it doesn’t need much dressing out, just tweak the branches into the desired shape and they will retain this shape for many years to come. You will need to pull out the end wing branches to an angle of 45 degrees. Complete all the branches in this manner.

Make sure the branches are not lined up on top of each other but are alternated. Dress out the branches as you did for the bottom section.

Firmly place the top section into the top of the tree.

Stand back and look at the tree then just tweak the branches into place to cover any gaps.

Now there is just the decorating to do. Finally, place the pre-lit angel or star tree topper on the top of the tree, plug in the connection to the wire in the top of tree; the one that you wondered what it was for. I know it is traditional to put the topper on at the end but believe me if you have a tall tree it is easier putting it on first as you don’t then risk breaking the baubles.

All the hard work is now done so all you have to do is sit back with a well-earned glass of something bubbly to celebrate putting the Christmas tree up in record time.
