Our Hayes employees, have a vast wealth of knowledge, we have several staff with over 50 years experience in each of their fields. Plants, planting and landscaping have been our life for almost 200 years. With over 100 staff across the garden centre, our depth of knowledge is vast. We have one of the largest garden furniture and barbecue departments in the UK with experienced staff available to answer your queries and give advice.

STORE OPEN 7 DAYS; MONDAY - SATURDAY 09:00 - 5:30, SUNDAY 10:00 - 5:00

The wearing of face masks in the store is no longer mandatory but as a courtesy to fellow customers and our staff we respectfully ask that you continue to do so and also keep a reasonable distance.

The Four Seasons Restaurant has now re-opened with a new and exciting menu; 9:30 - 4:00 Monday to Saturday 10:00 - 4:00 Sunday. (Closing time is earlier than normal due to the on-going renovations.)

The Personal Shopper service is operating from the store. Delivery is between Keswick in the north and Kendal in the south. Just call 015394 33434 or email: [email protected], please be patient if calling as our phone lines are extremely busy.

Here at Hayes Garden World we realise that our customers gardens are their pride and joy, so have implemented temporary measures to ensure our customers can still potter in the garden.

If you are self-isolating for a lengthy period it is important that you stay mobile, get some fresh air and stay motivated. There’s nothing better than a garden for lifting the spirits, Monty Don says that it’s the secret to happiness and we all need some of that at the moment.

Now that the children are off school why not teach them to bake, we have everything you need in our Kitchenware Department. Sowing seeds is also a great project for the kids and it’s so easy, you don’t even need a garden. Grow some salad leaves on a sunny windowsill or sow a sunflower seed in a pot. Our Toy Department has plenty of Lego, Woodcraft, jigsaws and much more besides to keep little hands out of mischief!

We have set up a personal shopper service to enable our customers to still be able to acquire their plants, that special present or the feed for the wild birds. Goods from all our departments is available for delivery not just for the garden. Remember all those jobs you were meaning to do but just haven’t had the time? Well now you do have the time and the weather to create that relaxing space where you can enjoy a barbecue with family and friends in summer when all this upset will hopefully be over.

Just because autumn is here and Christmas is on the horizon doesn't mean you have to consign the BBQ to the back of the garage, you can still use it all the year round. Check out our videos on our Youtube channel showing how to cook the Christmas dinner on your grill. The Barbecue Shop here in store stocks masses of Christmas gifts for the barbecuer in your life.

If you’re a keen barbecuer why not place a container of herbs besides your grill, we have quite a few herbs in stock at the moment and absolutely masses of containers in every colour and size imaginable. If you need inspiration for tasty, easy BBQ dishes we have a huge number on the blog site, including step by step videos from Richard Holden.

If your furniture and barbecue need un upgrade all this seasons furniture is on the website; due to the coronavirus outbreak there could be some delay in delivery but we do have limited stock of most furniture. If you email the Internet Customer Services team, via the 'Contact Us' page, they will be able to advise what is in stock and what is on a delay. The furniture in store is now located outside in the nursery due to the Christmas department taking over in the new building.

Now that Christmas is approaching don't forget we have gifts for everyone, for him and her, the kids and your four legged friends.

Don’t forget your four-legged friend, our Pet Department has new collars and leads, treats and more, just give them a call. Your feathered friends are not forgotten either, we have small packs of seed from ½ kg to 12.5kg bags, peanuts, mealworms, single feeders, multi-feeder stations, houses, nest boxes and lots more.

We can take Beautiful Gardens vouchers over the phone so you are not going to miss out on our great offers.

Delivery details

Delivery is £5 - £10 and covers the local area; between Keswick in the north and Kendal in the south. In order to minimise contact between yourself and the delivery driver we are asking you please to designate a delivery area where your goods can be left. Our driver will ring the bell and then leave the goods without waiting for an answer. More or less anything the store sells will be available for delivery except for large and heavy furniture items which require a 2-man delivery team. These items will be available through our website.
