Christmas 2016 is nearly here!
The Christmas 2016 spectacular promises to be bigger and better
Well, here it is again, the Hayes elves have been brought out of storage and dusted off and have now completed the Christmas display. This year promises to be a snowy wonderland with some of your old favourite traditional colours plus a new favourite, champagne, which launched last year. Champagne, old gold and antique silver look really stylish, particularly when combined to make a table centre-piece or mantle decoration, just add some soft white LED lights. It also looks like dark blue is making a come-back for this season; it looks stunning teamed with one of the frosty trees. For a change try teeming the dark blue with caramel and soft champagne.
For a really luxurious look why not team burgundy and purple with a touch of gold. The naturals are always popular as you can match them with your own home-made gingerbread decorations, cinnamon sticks, cones, nuts and slices of dried fruit.
There is also the ever popular red, white and green; the epitome of Christmas. Colour co-ordination is not compulsory at Christmas as most of the trees which provoke the most heart-warming memories are those which have the decorations made by the children and collected bit by bit over the years.
This year we aim to be the country’s leading supplier of artificial Christmas trees, both in store and on-line. This year we have trees from our leading supplier of superior quality trees, The National Tree Company, plus additional offerings from Puleo and Kaemingk. We are heavily into pre-lit trees as they really are a no brainer. The lights are replaceable LEDs which are cool to the touch, so perfectly safe if you have children in the house, and no danger of over-heating and setting fire to the house!
LED lights are also incredibly environmentally-friendly as they use very little power, so you don’t get a frightening energy bill at the end of Christmas. They should last on average 50,000 hours, which is a lot of Christmasses! We supply replacement bulbs in case you break one, and if you do the lights are wired in sections so no more searching through the whole light set to find the culprit.
One of the new Christmas trees this year is the Windsor Spruce which is almost indistinguishable from the real thing. It would suit a minimalist naturalistic palette of decoration; try a colour combination of sea green, white and caramel.
The runaway successes of the Christmas tree world last year were the New Generation trees which feature the Power Connect lighting system which just connects automatically as you build the tree, Memory Wire branches which are almost ready to be decorated as soon as you take off the protective sleeve and the Bluetooth Music Match system which allows your tree lights to dance in time to your own personal choice of music (this is only compatible with pre-lit trees from The National Tree Company).
Lights already wired onto the tree leave you more time to enjoy the festive period rather than spending hours untangling lights and putting them onto a tree then taking them off again at the end. No matter how carefully you put away the lights they always come out tangled the following year; how they do this is one of the mysteries of the universe still waiting to be solved!

Acrylic lit figures are always popular and this year we have one of the most extensive selections we have ever had. Lit with LEDs they are ideal as a nightlight in children’s bedrooms. Choose from santas, snowmen, penguins, polar bears and reindeer. New to the lighting department are the lit decorated vases which create a focal point without having to do anything more technical or artistic than just plugging them in.
Not only do we have a spectacular Christmas department but also a packed gift department. The Christmas food this year is located at the northern end of the shop just as you enter from the car park and features all your old favourites plus some new gift lines. Fresh Christmas trees will be available in the nursery from about the middle of November, if you're making a special journey phone first just to make sure they are in stock, and Santa's Grotto will be open from Saturday 12th November; click here for details. Santa's Grotto is open from Thursday to Sunday throughout November and every day through December until the 23rd when Santa has to fly back to the North Pole to make sure there are enough presents for all the girls and boys.
Hayes is the 'one stop' shop for all your Christmas needs and once you've 'shopped 'til you drop' why not treat yourself in our Four Seasons Restaurant.
