Daughter of a farmer and market gardener so have always had a connection with the outdoors, whether it was keeping animals or producing fruit, vegetables and cut flowers. Along with my work at Hayes Garden World I also have a smallholding, mainly breeding rare breed pigs. I gained an HND and BSc in Conservation and Environmental Land Management, as a result I am an ardent environmentalist and have a keen interest in environmentally friendly gardening. In my time at Hayes I worked for several years in the Outdoor Plant and Houseplant areas

Not confident ordering over the internet? In these days of computer hacking and bank details being stolen we are aware that not all our customers are happy to commit their bank details to a computer so just give our sales team a call on 015394 82333 and we will be more than happy to take your order over the phone. The office is manned from 9:00 to 5:30 Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 5:00 on a Sunday. The Hayes Garden World Internet Sales Team are real people based at our store in the beautiful English Lake District at Ambleside. We aim to answer every call as soon as you ring but occasionally when all the staff are tied up your call will go onto a ‘ring-back’ system and you will be called as soon as someone is free. You can order over the internet or if you want to speak to a friendly voice then just call one of the team who will be able to iron out any queries, advise if an item is in stock, how to look after your furniture in winter or just give you advice on how to look after your dog (Janice).

Lyndan is the whirl-wind powerhouse and any problem is no problem as he can solve any glitches, and coupled with his encyclopedic knowledge of the products can advise you on the best product for your situation. He is also the bringer of joy in the form of chocolate and biscuits; most of which he eats himself! When not working, he loves spending time with his family walking his golden retriever.

Richard is the voice of our consciences when bacon sandwiches or chips beckon! He is the level headed backbone whose customer service is second to none. He is a family man loving nothing better than spending time with his wife and children. He is another dog lover, being the proud owner of a black and white spaniel.

Alison is easily bribed by food so discounts can be had for the price of a packet of biscuits! On her days off she can be found walking the fells, when dodgy knees allow!  She also loves being on the water, especially on the Med where it’s a bit warmer than here! She is the joker of the team and always cheerful.

Janice is the chocoholic to end all chocoholics so if you want discount send her chocolates and it’s a done deal! She is also a member of the Coniston Mountain Rescue so if you get into difficulty on the fells around Coniston she will speed to your rescue; also a First Responder so if you visit the store and need help she will come to your aid. PS She might just rifle through your bag for chocolate!
