Are you ready for Christmas?
Our 2018 showstopping display is now open with even more inspiration
It’s that time of year again when we oust the furniture department to make way for Christmas; they haven’t disappeared, just relocated to a temporary showroom outside in the plant nursery. 2018 promises to be bigger and better than ever with plenty of displays, decorated trees and garlands to fire up your imagination. We have decorated along the top of all our colour themes to give you ideas that can easily be translated to a garland over the mantelpiece or one wrapped around a bannister.
Naturally we have the traditional red and gold but this year we have also teamed green with gold and cream and added in a touch of natural wood. So if you are one who loves the traditional colours why not freshen them up with a complimentary colour, such as cream or copper, or add a touch of lime to really make the tree sing out.
Keeping with a traditional wintery theme, turquoise, ice blue and white are very much in fashion this year. We have added in some natural wood and copper to update this traditional theme to give a contemporary, chic Scandi look. If you are struggling to pick a colour theme have a read of our blog “How to choose the colours for your Christmas tree decorations” which could give you a little help in putting colours together.
If you want a modern muted palette we have a soft pink and antique gold theme which probably isn’t for the purists but would really go well with the soft grey decor that is currently in fashion. We have added a little whimsy to this with the addition of pink fluffy alpacas!
For a burst of pure colour we have teamed deep purple and iridescent white with baby pink to produce a traditional theme but with a hint of 21st century styling. Add a unicorn and this colour-way would delight any little girl who wants her own mini Christmas tree.
This year we have added mint green to red and white and decorated a snowy pre-lit Iceland tree. This tree is available in 6’, 6.5’ and 7’ and is lit with dual Cosmic lights which have 9 functions, so you can have them on multi, warm white, pastel or various combinations of all three.
We have masses of battery lit small acrylic figures, perfect as a night light. New in this year are the lit characters from the animated film The Snowman to go alongside all your old favourites; snowmen, Santa’s, reindeer, polar bears and penguins. If space is limited then why not opt for one of the small lighted houses which are only 3 – 4” in height.
All the lights we stock are now LED so they are cheap to run, costing a fraction of what the old filament lights cost to run. Not only are they environmentally friendly in terms of power usage they are cold to touch so perfectly safe if you have small children. Many of the lighted figures are safe for outdoor use so why not brighten up your patio or front garden.
If you prefer something a little more minimalist a simple strings of lights is so versatile, they’re not just for decorating the tree. We have several videos on our Youtube channel showing what you can do with them, such as decorating the mantelpiece, making a centrepiece for the dining table or just adding them to some decorations in a bowl. (Click here to go to the Christmas playlist on our Youtube channel) If you decorate the bannister make sure that everything is secure to ensure there are no accidents.
We have one of the largest collections of artificial trees in the north west with prices ranging from the budget friendly to the ultra-luxurious. There are trees to suit every situation from the most impressive entrance hall to the tiniest bedsit.
