World of Plants Development
In conjunction with our Architects Malcolm Scott Consultants we have designed and gained planning permission for the new "World of Plants" at our world renown Garden Centre in the Heart of the lake District.
The 5 million pound development will span over three years. The Development will be a progressive Development divided into four phases. The end result will enable us to offer an additional 44,000 square feet of covered sales area (4,220 sq metres).
Housed within the New buildings will be the following ;

An 8,000 sq ft Pets & Aquatics Department

An Increased Outdoor & Indoor Furniture Department of 10,000 sq ft.

An Increased Terracotta & Outdoor Ornament offer of 6,000 sq ft.

An Increased Garden Sundries offer of 2,600 sq ft.

An Increased Undercover Outdoor Plant offer in the region of 18,000 sq ft
Under consideration at this moment in time is to bring in some third party franchises some of which include the following ;

Phase 2 is due to start 1st October 2009 with completion April 2010
Phase 3 is due to start 1st of June 2010 with completion in December 2010
Phase 4 is due to start January 2011 with completion January 2012
In amongst these projects is planned a Secondary Catering outlet, a miniature Crazy Golf course, an extensive children's play area situated within a Newly planted Lakeland copse, a 460 seat outside seated Terrace area next to the main Restaurant on the Roof of Building B which has been constructed within phase 1.
