Our 2009 Valuation day was a great success with our antiques team valuing over 200 items.
The
Valuation day we held on May 11th 2009 was the first joint venture we had
held with Tennants Auctioneers based in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
Tennants
chose Hayes to hold this day as they wanted to promote their name
within the Lake District. They also felt that the venue had everything
they wanted to offer clients - Plenty of parking, shopping within the
garden centre and a restaurant i.e. a good day out!
It
was attended by Six Valuers, including Rodney Tennant - Managing
Director and Auctioneer, and also Adam Schoon - valuer on the Antiques
Road show. The six experts ranges covered toys, paintings, books,
jewellery, china and miscellaneous items.
It was decided that £2 would be charged for each item valued on the day. The valuations took place from 10am - 4pm.
The
day was a huge success and Tennants would like to make this a yearly
event. They said that the quality of the items seen was very high with
some unusual items turning up.
Over 200 items were valued resulting in £418 being raised for Ambleside Mountain Rescue, which was fantastic. The cheque was handed over to Nick Owen by Julie Wray, who had co-ordinated the event.
